WELCOME

As an artist and bluestocking, I examine contemporary femininity, visual culture, and the historical contexts that influence perception. My practice centers on critical inquiry through exhibition reviews, engagement with contemporary and feminist theory, and the development of educational resources that link gallery experiences to curriculum and lesson planning.

With experience in the Alberta Program of Studies and IB MYP and DP Visual Arts, I design educational resources to promote deep learning and meaningful engagement with art in the classroom.

My creative work employs scale, texture, and symbolism to challenge conventional narratives. Here you will find my artworks, writing, teaching resources, and current academic projects.

CURRENT PROJECTS

Explore my artwork:

spanning giant soft-sculpture keys, the Sirens painting series, and my narrative project, This One Time. Each body of work examines safety, identity, and the stories we carry, using scale, gesture, and feminist humour to reimagine the everyday.

Sirens

The Sirens series explores defiance and humour through the middle-finger gesture, presenting strong, confident women who rebel against the expectations of femininity.

This One Time

The This One Time project explores the constant vigilance women carry against threat, using the everyday act of gripping keys as improvised weapons to reveal how fear, caution, and survival shape ordinary moments.

Protest Quilts

My quilts celebrate the art of quilting as a powerful medium, honouring textile artists and an art form layered with expression and community. Each quilt asserts a bold statement of warmth and solidarity.

Walking With Keys

My giant soft-sculpture keys are activated through performance, exploring safety, autonomy, and protection through scale, humour, and materiality.
